Back In Kyoto!

Photobucket
Takahiro! Hisashiburi! It's been a long time.

Peace from lantern-lit Miyagawa-cho! (*^_^*)v

Just checking in to let everyone know that after a few excellent days in Ena, we've finally arrived in Kyoto! Despite what these images might imply, we did not spend our first evening here chasing geisha, but we couldn't help running into them everywhere we went! The cherry blossoms are blooming, and hanami season, Gion's busiest, is in full swing.

Takahiro, could you be any cuter?

It was funny I was reading your blog, then i found the maiko in the peach blossom kanzashi again on another blog I read! http://masakuro.exblog.jp/
Looks like she's in the same kimono and everything! I thought that was kind of neat. looks like her name is Itiwaka

Melissa,

What beautiful pictures and what a beautiful letter from your former student. It brought tears to my eyes and WOW! how many lives you have touched in Japan.

Very proud.

I was reading your blog on the Miyako Odori 08 and I saw where you said that you have to have a special licensce now to take pictures.

Exactly how expensive was this licensce? If it was $100, I could probably deal. But $200+ is a little much.

And I guess that means there will be no videos on YouTube or online with Odori footage. I was supposed to go on a study abroad trip and the Odori was on the agenda. However, the trip got cancelled.

I hope you had a great time.
