Someone looks happy! Clouds of cherry blossoms and a cute young maiko named Ichiharu make for one memorable hanami pre-game festivity... More on that later (^_<)/

Thank you for this Melissa! I've been dying to know her name. ^-^ I thought it was Shinaju.
I just wanted to say that I found your blog the other day when I was looking for information on Kyoto. It's because I've just returned from there and wanted to get accurate information for my photos I just uploaded to flickr.
Anyways, I'm loving reading your posts and seeing the photos. I'm working my way through them.
I do have a few recent photos of some of the maiko that I took while in Gion. I'm sure you are busy but if you get a chance to look, and recognize anyone, I would so appreciate knowing who they are!
Hi Melissa! I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing all your lovely pictures of Maiko and Geiko. I'd like to travel to Kyoto one day, and every time I see your pictures I remember to keep saving money for the trip! ^_^
(Also, the link above is inaccurate. I did some poking around and I came up with this, which should lead you in the right direction, if you want to look at her photos: http://flickr.com/photos/blukat/sets/72157602 890198286/ )
Andrew: Doitashimashite: Don't mention it. It's my pleasure!
Julie: Ookini! It sounds like you had a great experience in Kyoto. I'd be glad to help, but the links you've sent don't seem to work...
Molly: I hope you do get to visit Kyoto someday! My pictures are nothing compared to experiencing it in real life. You won't be disappointed. It will be worth it, I promise!
I'll give that link a try! Cheers!
Sara: Hehehe... Not everyone! Some people manage to control their dorkiness just long enough to look normal. I, on the other hand, have embraced it- become one with it. In other words, I have no such hope (^_<)
Abbey: I wish you were still here!
Alyson: Come on now! You lived in Japan for two years! Haven't you seen Japanese girls climbing mountains in 9 inchi stillhettos? Shinaju's got it easy! (^_<)
Inge: Kyoto is my happy place! Now if only I could t pull myself away just long enough to get down to Kyushuu...
I'm Japanese in Kyoto. I will dance at Gion kobu kaburenjo on May 31. I will play "Renjishi". If you are interested in this event, please come and watch.
Andrew: Yeah, looks like you're right... Again!(^_<) I just got back from Pontocho's Kamogawa Odori, and this is Ichiharu. I must have confused them, since Shinaju was there, too...

You lucky girl! It looks like it's getting warmer there in Kyotes, eh?
By the way, I like your shirt! ^_<
Have fun this week!
I was going to say nice shirt too! I gotta say, Shinaju's heels look deadly. I have no idea how they learn to walk in those shoes.
Oh, how I wish I were you right now! You look like you're in heaven, enjoy Kyoto while you can :-).

Dear Melissa,
Did you ask her name? I'm sure you spoke to her right?
Because I somewhat believe, and have for awhile, that she is the Pontocho maiko Ichiharu.
